Pastor Tim,
I became aware of your situation through the brothers at Cross Politic. I write as a pastor and a brother in Christ who prays earnestly for your vindication, comfort and strength. I pray for your family and have openly encouraged our congregation to join me.
I thank God for your faithfulness to the commands of the Lord Jesus and that you have not “rendered unto Caesar” what belongs to the Lord Jesus. My heart aches for your family and your precious children. Be encouraged that they are seeing in this moment that their father is a true believer in the authority of King Jesus.
I pray the Lord keeps them from bitterness and wrath toward all civil authorities and that they grow to imitate their father’s firm grace.
Recently, our church has been studying the book of Hebrews together. A couple of weeks ago we covered 10:32-34,
“But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, 33 sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. 34 For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one” (ESV).
Brother, you have this “better possession” and now everyone knows it. May God grant you this season and this trial as a witness to the Lordship of Jesus and the joy of Jesus. May God grant that this present trial be cut short – and soon!
Thank you for your faithfulness – it is truly a gift from the Lord – for you and for us.
Your brother,
Pastor Cory Kitch
